Buying an investment property in today’s market is certainly more challenging than it has been in a long time. However, it can make sense and it can be successfully done with the right due diligence and assistance. Volatile and high interest rates, hesitant and cautious lenders, historical low inventory, multiple competing offers and the imposition of more and more regulations by local municipalities in the form of rental registries, regular code inspections and stricter enforcement have made the purchase and ownership of an investment property all that more challenging.

With that said, these challenges can be overcome with proper representation and thorough due diligence. I often meet with people that want to begin the process of buying an investment property and I hear time and time again that the timing is not right.
