Note: Brewers use brown sugar, candy sugar, maple sugar/syrup or molasses/blackstrap molasses in the fermentation of a malt beverage, the designation is not required to refer to these ingredients. Instead, the malt beverage may be labeled as a “beer” or an “ale” and so forth.
