The TTB tested wines for compliance issues. The most commonly found problems, listed in order, were:

  1. Non-mandatory information differs from the COLA
  2. Mandatory information differs from the Certificate of Label Approval (COLA)
  3. Alcohol content: under
  4. Tax class
  5. Alcohol content: over
  6. Class, type, or statement of composition is incorrect
  7. No COLA
